Greenspring’s Continuing Care Neighborhood Receives Top Recognition from U.S. News & World Report

(Springfield, VA)  – U.S. News & World Report recently released its sixth annual Best Nursing Homes ratings, which included Greenspring’s Continuing Care neighborhood.  The Best Nursing Homes 2014 ratings highlight the top care communities in each city and state, out of nearly 16,000 nationwide. 

“This is a tremendously important recognition for Greenspring to receive,” said Karen Boyce, Director of Continuing Care for Greenspring.  “It provides added peace of mind to residents, future residents, and families of residents, assuring them that we will provide the best possible person-centered and individualized care for each resident every day.”

To determine the 2014 ratings, U.S. News & World Report utilized data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS); the Best Nursing Home designation was given to those that recently received an overall five-star rating from CMS, the highest possible rating.  In January 2014, Greenspring received a five-star rating in “Overall Quality,” an assessment based on three categories including health inspections, level of nurse staffing, and quality of care.
