Meet Rescue Pup - Baby J.

Meet this week's Rescue Pup - Baby J. He's an adorable, smart, 9-month-old American Bulldog or Boxer mix in need of a new home. Baby J is hearing impaired, but doesn't let that slow him down.

Hello. My name is Baby J, and I’m a people dog. I’m about 9 months old, 30lbs, and my rescue friends think I may be an American Bulldog or Boxer mix. I was born deaf, but that doesn’t slow me down because it’s all I know. I’m a normal, active, super-affectionate puppy that wants to play and is eager to learn. I love every person I meet, and my favorite things to do are hanging out with my people and family playtime in the back yard.

I have an awesome foster mom who is teaching me hand signal commands, and I learn quickly. I already know Sit, Lay Down, Come, and am working on Stay. I’m also learning special commands like “Touch” where my mom uses a hand signal that tells me to touch her hand with my nose, and redirects my attention to her.   But my favorite command is the one my mom uses for “Good Boy.” I love to please her, and know that I did a good job. A treat is always nice too.

I’m already potty trained and crate trained, but I’m still working on my leash walking and meeting new dogs. I do have some fear and get nervous around new dogs, so I need to work on socialization outside of my home. I’m great with my foster pup siblings though, and love to roughhouse, cuddle, and sleep on top of them. They don't seem to mind; I’m not that big.

My ideal family is someone who wants to work with me and has time to help me learn more hand signals and work on socialization. Even though I love my foster pup siblings, I’m probably best as an only dog so I can get more dedicated attention. I’d also prefer a house with a fenced yard, where I can run and play freely. Mostly, I need a home that will love me, make me feel safe and secure, and be committed to my training. I have so much potential and I’m a sweet pup. I need someone who is willing to nurture and work with me, and I will give you much love in return.

My adoption fee includes all my routine vetting, my microchip, and my neuter.

By adopting me you are giving me a great home, and helping to save the life of another dog in need of rescue.

Thank you for choosing to rescue!
