Meet Taco -- One Chill Chihuahua

Taco is a laid back, good natured pup who gets along great with people, other dogs and kids. He adapts quickly to new situations, and would be a wonderful companion for your family.

Hi! My name is Taco. I’m an adult male Chihuahua who weighs about 13 pounds. I’m a laid back, sweet pup with plenty of personality.

I was rescued from a shelter by a nice lady from Mutts Matter who saw my face and felt I "spoke to her." She saved me just in the nick of time, and now I live with an awesome foster family who accepts me as one of their own. My foster mom says that I'm the easiest dog she's ever had, and she trusts me completely to have free roam of the house and hang out with my two pup siblings and the kids.

I’m such a low maintenance, good natured dog that I would fit in well with an active family with kids, or make a great companion for an older person or single adult who lives in an apartment. I’m potty-trained and will tell you when I need to go outside. I rarely bark, but will let you know when folks come visiting. I walk well on a leash, and will always sit for a treat.

I’m good with all people, kids, and dogs, and adapt quickly to new situations. I like to go on walks, take naps, and mix in a little play session from time to time, but my favorite thing is to hang out on the couch and have my belly rubbed.  You can see me practicing in my picture.

Basically, I’m your total package and cute as a button. You just need to meet me, and I’ll win you over. Do you have room in your home and heart for me?

Adopting an Adult Dog…

Adult dogs make the best pets. They’ve already grown into themselves, and have established personalities, so you know what you’re getting. They’ve typically been "socialized" and understand what it takes to be part of your family pack. They have calmer temperaments, are better able to focus during training, and are willing and eager to learn and please you.

Adult dogs are also more worldly - many have already experienced car rides and know how to walk on a leash, so they’re instant companions ready to take on new activities with you. They are also very grateful for the second chance they’ve been given and will really appreciate a loving and caring home.

Adopting an adult dog is your opportunity to be a Hero. At the shelters, older dogs are often the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized. Saving an animal’s life offers an unlimited emotional return on your investment, and you’ll reap the rewards every day you spend together.
