Greater Springfield Chamber Members Collect Books for Area Kids

Area businesses will be accepting donations of new and gently-used children's books through April 6.

The Greater Springfield Chamber’s Community Affairs Committee will host a Children’s Book Drive February 13 through April 6. Children’s books, for readers up to grade 6, will be collected at Chamber events and at area businesses for distribution to local elementary age students this spring.

“Every child should have books they call their own,” said Karen Brown, coordinator of the Chamber’s book drive. “I know our business community is ready to help.”

New and gently-used children’s books may be dropped off at participating locations through April 6. Chamber volunteers will pick-up collected books as donation boxes fill, and prepare them for distribution to young residents in the Greater Springfield community.
