Accidental Springfield House Fire Displaces Two Adults

There were no injuries. Damages are estimated around $45,000.

Two adults have been displaced following an accidental house fire on Jenna Court in Springfield last Saturday.

According to a news release from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, units responded to a house fire at 9300 Jenna Court at approximately 1:45 a.m. on March 23.

When they arrived at the two-story, single-family home, firefighters saw "heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage and the attic". The fire was extinguished quickly and the two adults, who were home at the time of the fire, were able to escape unharmed.

The release states that a family pet alerted the occupants to the fire. There were no civilian, personal, or pet injuries.

The occupants have declined Red Cross support. Damages to the home are estimated at $45,000.

Fire investigators determined an unidentified electrical source in the attic caused the fire, the release states.
