Burke Resident Arrested in Murder at Chick-Fil-A

The suspect was charged in the murder of his estranged wife this morning.

A Burke resident has been arrested in the shooting death of a woman at a Chick-Fil-A in Woodbridge this morning.

Daniel Lunie Everette, 52, of 9149 Broken Oak Place in Burke, was arrested and charged with murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony in the death of his wife. Everette was estranged from the victim, Alice Jenkins Everette, 48, of Dumfries. She was shot multiple times at 8:45 am. This is believed to be an isolated domestic incident.

After a search for the culprit, Daniel Everette turned himself in about 10 a.m. at the Garfield police substation in Woodbridge, Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

The parking lot of the restaurant was roped off along with the turn lane into the shopping center from the parkway. Customers in the restaurant at the time of the shooting were released after questioning by police around 10:45 a.m.

Police reported that the couple's children are safe.
