Car Crash on New England Woods Drive Injures Five

Driver crossed double line Tuesday night.

Two adults and three children were injured in Burke Tuesday evening following a partial head-on collision on New England Woods Drive, near Burke Centre Parkway.

According to a police spokesman, a 67-year-old male was traveling southbound on New England Woods Drive in a Honda Accord when he crossed the double line and partially collided with a Hyundai traveling northbound on New England Woods Drive around 7 p.m.

The two adults and three children who were in the Hyundai were transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with failure to keep vehicle under control, according to police.

A resident told Patch he heard the crash from his home on New England Woods Drive and reported the children in the Hyundai were carried away on backboards into an ambulance following the crash.
