Fatal Car Crash on I-95 Kills One

The crash occurred Saturday just outside of West Springfield. Virginia State Police are still investigating the cause.

Virginia State Police are currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of one person Saturday.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:36 p.m. Saturday in the northbound HOV lanes of Interstate 95, just south of Exit 170, according to Corinne Geller, public relations director with the Virginia State Police.

The impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to catch fire. VSP have confirmed there was one fatality. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and the cause of death and identity of the victim has not been released.
