National Fire Prevention Week October 9 - 15, 2011.

The National Fire Protection Association has sponsored Fire Prevention Week since 1922.  The observance is always held on the Sunday through Saturday period in which October 9 falls, in remembrance of the October 8 and 9, 1871, Great Chicago Fire.
