Former South County Football Coach Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge

Jeffrey Reagan faces up to 10 years in prison.

A former football coach at South County and West Springfield High Schools pleaded guilty Thursday to dealing anabolic steroids. Jeffrey Reagan, 44, of Bristow, was arrested last June with his alleged supplier at the Sully Plaza Shopping Center in Chantilly.

Reagan worked at South County High School for five years and taught at Mountain View Alternative High School in Centreville. He faces up to 10 years in prison for possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute. Sentencing is scheduled for March.

There was no evidence that Reagan sold steroids to students, according to the Washington Post

Following Reagan's arrest, West Springfield High School Principal Mark Greenfelder sent out this note to parents:

We have been made aware that Jeffrey Reagan, a prospective coach whom we were evaluating to add to our football coaching staff, was arrested by Fairfax County Police Department narcotics detectives.  Mr. Reagan is an experienced coach in the area and had completed all the requirements established by FCPS to be employed as a coach.  Mr. Reagan attended two days of the recent football camp and a fitness work out session as part of his being evaluated to join the football staff. We want to assure parents that he was never alone with any of the athletes during this time. Mr. Reagan will no longer be associated with West Springfield HS.

Its good that nobody passes judgment before the accused gets a fair trial, per due process.

Um, doesn't "pleaded guilty" rather imply judgment already?

Figures. I'm not surprised one bit.
