Police Seek Tips: Burglar Has Hit 28 Subway Stores Since November

Latest incident took place Monday at Subway store at 8960 Burke Lake Road.

Police are seeking tips from the public regarding a series of burglaries from Subway sandwich shops across the region. Nine of the crimes occurred in Fairfax County; others have taken place in Alexandria and in Maryland jurisdictions.

The most recent burglary took place Monday, April 7 around 2 a.m. Someone broke the door to the restaurant, located at 8960 Burke Lake Road, and stole cash.

Nov. 29, 2013: 6829 Elm St., McLean

Jan 1 or 2: 6711 Spring Mall Drive, Springfield

Feb. 13: 6216 Old Dominion Dr., McLean

March 6 or 7: 13926 Lee Jackson Memorial Hwy., Chantilly

March 10 or 11: 6230 Rolling Road, West Springfield

March 11 or 12: 6991C Backlick Road

March 17:  5810 Kingstowne Center, Kingstowne

March 19 or 20: 6110 Rose Hill Dr., Rose Hill 

March 25: 275 S. Van Dorn St., Alexandria

A report on crimereports.com says the burglar smashed the front glass door, stole cash and destroyed the computer system.

The suspect is described as male, unknown race, wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants. The description is similar to 27 other Subway restaurant burglaries since November 2013.
