Update: Missing 81-Year-Old Burke Woman Found Safe

The woman was last seen at her home on the 9500 block of Harrowhill Lane.

Update 1:57 p.m.: The missing 81-year-old woman has been found, according to Fairfax County police. A post on the Fairfax County Police Department's Twitter account reads: "The missing woman has been located near her residence and appears to be ok. Thanks to all those who assisted."

Burke Patch reader Todd Eastman says his mom, Kathy Eastman, found the woman on a neighbor's front door stoop.

Fairfax County police are searching for an 81-year-old Burke resident who went missing from her home on Monday.

The woman, who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's, is described as Asian, about 4'9" tall and weighing around 100 lbs wearing a green sweater, black shirt and blue pants. Police are working on getting a photo of the woman.

Officer Don Gotthardt with the Fairfax County Police Department said she was last seen at her home on the 9500 block of Harrowhill Lane around 2 p.m. yesterday. Harrowhill Lane is in the triangular area bordered by Twinbrook, Braddock and Guinea roads in Burke.

Gotthardt said police helicopters have been searching for the area for the missing woman for a few hours now. Blood hounds are currently on scene sweeping the area.

Anyone with information on the woman's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or call the police non-emergency phone number at 703-691-2131.
