Police Seek Help Locating Hit and Run Victim's Family

Fairfax City Police are looking for both the driver who fled the scene and the victim's family.

UPDATE (Monday, June 18, 2012, 5 a.m.): released more information Sunday in the hope someone will step forward to help solve this hit and run case.

Mohammad Jabour, 33, was struck by a vehicle while walking along Lee Highway-Fairfax Boulevard (Route 50-29) and Warwick Avenue on Friday night. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police are trying to locate his family and friends. If you know Jabour or his family, please contact the City of Fairfax Police Department at 703-385-7924.

Officers are still searching for the driver who struck Jabour and left the scene. Sgt. Joe Johnson described the vehicle as a Suzuki SUV, possibly a Grand Vatera, with a wheel mounted on the back with a "Suzuki" cover. Johnson urged residents to keep an eye out for a vehicle that fits this description.

A Fairfax man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle Friday night.

The victim was walking on the sidewalk near Fairfax Boulevard and Warwick Avenue at around 10:40 p.m. when a SUV ran into him, throwing him more than 50 feet into a parked vehicle, said Sgt. Joe Johnson of the .

The 33-year-old victim was taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene, traveling east down Fairfax Boulevard. Anyone who has information about the incident or sees a light-colored SUV with damage to the front end of the car, including the headlights, should contact Fairfax City Police.
