Serial Groper Attacks for the 23rd Time, Hours Before Police Meeting Thursday Night

Police: Latest possible incident took place Thursday around 3 p.m. on Bauer Road near Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield.

Four hours before a town hall-style gathering Thursday night in Springfield where more than 200 concerned residents packed a meeting to hear from police and other officials about the so-called "serial groper," it appears the suspect may have struck again.

The serial groper has been attacking women mainly in the Springfield area since September. Thursday would be the 23rd such incident. It took place about three-and-a-half miles from the meeting place.

Police are now investigating that incident and say it may be related to the series of assaults that have taken place in the Springfield area over the past several months, according to a news release from Fairfax County Police.
