Trial for Tae Kwon Do Instructor Set for January

Quyen Vinh Phan Le was indicted in May on four counts of indecent liberties with a minor and three counts of possession of child pornography.

The trial for Quyen Vinh Phan Le — a 38-year-old Franconia resident — will be held Jan. 14, 2013 at 10 a.m., according to the Fairfax County Circuit Court. Le was indicted of four counts of indecent liberties with a minor by someone in a custodial or supervisory relationship and three counts of possession of child pornography.

Le was a tae kwon do instructor at Burke's Phan University of Martial Arts. Officers said they were contacted by the first victim in June 2011. During the course of their investigation, a second victim was discovered.

The nationally recognized tae kwon do instructor reportedly had inappropriate sexual contact with the second victim in late 2007. She was under 18 years old at the time. These incidents are alleged to have occurred at the Phan University of Martial Arts and at the suspect’s home.
