West Springfield Police Activity Report
District 7 activities reported through Jan. 4, 2012.
The police advise residents that theft from vehicles continues to be a concern in the area. Citizens can help reduce these crimes with a few easy steps:
- Remove electronic devices, purses/wallets, money and other personal items from your vehicle.
- Store power cords and the "sticky cups" which hold antennas out-of-sight.
- Always lock your vehicle's doors.

ROBBERY
Three men robbed a 30-year-old man at gunpoint in the 4900 block of Americana Drive around 8 p.m. on Friday, December 30. One of the suspects was apprehended; Kelvin Darnell Mercer, 20, of 7509 Little River Turnpike #3 in Annandale, was taken to jail and charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The victim was not injured.
