Burke Residents Donate $65,000 to Presidential Campaigns

President Obama's campaign has received roughly $25,000.

Burke area residents have contributed about $65,000 to presidential candidates during the 2012 election cycle.

Residents in the 22015 and 22032 ZIP codes both donated about $19,000. Those living in the 22039 ZIP code contributed roughly $27,000.

As of Feb. 21, 2012, President Barack Obama’s campaign has received about $25,000 from Burke community members, according to information at Opensecrets.org.

Former Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign had the second-highest amount in contributions, with $22,750 from Burke ZIP codes.

The campaigns to elect U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and U.S. Rep. Newt Gingrich’s (R-Georgia) received less than $3,500 each.
