Community Meeting on the Re Zoning of University Mall

On Wednesday February 23rd Supervisor John C. Cook will host a community meeting at Oakview Elementary School. The topic will be the University Mall re-zoning application.  College Town Associates, the application’s developer will be present. 

On January 19, 2011 the Fairfax County Planning Commission held a public hearing on a proposal by the University Mall to rezone its property.  This proposal would demolish several buildings on the site, add approximately 68,000 square feet of retail and office space, and reconfigure the way in which some space is used.  The Planning Commission deferred its decision on this application until April 3, 2011.  A second public hearing before the Board of Supervisors will follow a decision by the Planning Commission.
