Fairfax County's State Lawmakers to Meet Saturday with Constituents

Meeting and hearing is just days before start of next General Assembly session.

Fairfax County residents have an opportunity to meet with the county’s General Assembly delegation at the Fairfax County Government Center on Saturday, just days before the start of the General Assembly's 2013 session.

The public input session is set to take place Saturday, before the area's delegates and senators head down to Richmond for the start of the General Assembly’s 2013 session, which begins Wednesday.

The meeting will include an opportunity for residents to speak out about the issues important to them. As of 4 p.m. Thursday, there were 47 residents signed up to speak at the meeting, according to county representatives.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova will deliver brief remarks before the meeting and then open the floor for comments from the public.

County representatives said most, if not all, of the delegation usually attends the meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, at the Fairfax County Government Center.

Residents who wish to register to speak in advance should call the Office of the Clerk to the Board of Supervisors at 703-324-3151, TTY 711, by noon on Friday. Residents are also welcome to sign up at the hearing.
