Federal Employees Granted Excused Absence for Delayed Arrival Monday

OPM recommends employees remain off road until 9 a.m. due to predicted icy conditions.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) said Federal agencies in the Washington, D.C. area will open Monday, Jan. 23, under an 11:00 a.m. delayed arrival, due to expected icy conditions.

"Employees have the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework," said the online notice.

OPM recommends Federal employees remain off the road until 9:00 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory through 6 a.m. Monday for the metropolitan D.C. area, including Fairfax County.
