Let Loose in the Library

Annual fundraiser garners $80,000 for unfunded programs and services.

Burke's Joy Whittington is a library fan.  She attended the Fairfax Library Foundation's 2011 Library Jubilee -- Let Loose in the Library -- to show her support.  "I love the library, and I've just realized that I need to bring my support beyond just our local branch and up to the Foundation level," she told Channel 16 video.

About 120 people attended the annual fundraiser, held at .  It was the first time the event was held in a library.  The more than $80,000 raised will pay for unfunded programs and services.

The Fairfax Library Foundation is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that exists to raise supplementary funds for Fairfax County Public Library.
