Supervisor John Cook to Host Reddit AMA Chat

The online discussion, which is geared to George Mason University students, will be Thursday.

Braddock District Supervisor John Cook will host a Reddit.com “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) chat this week to discuss issues affecting Braddock District.

The chat, which is mostly geared toward George Mason University (GMU) students, will be Thursday, March 7 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. There topic of discussion is wide open for the chat.

Cook said he hopes to connect with GMU students and help get them more involved in the community, according to a news release. Reddit AMAs are described in the release as “online interviews, held between members of the Reddit community and an individual.”

“Getting students to come to a traditional town hall isn’t easy. If I were them, I wouldn’t come either. Reddit gives us an opportunity to make it easier for them to connect with their local government,” said Cook in the news release. “I want Mason students to get to know who I am, and what I can do for them. This AMA is one way to start that discussion. George Mason is an incredibly important part of Braddock District. GMU’s campus brings culture and energy to all residents, and I want students to know how much we value them as neighbors."

The AMA will be on the GMU Sub-Reddit.
