Due to the I-495 HOT Lanes construction project, many neighborhoods with property or public right-of-way adjacent to the Beltway have lost trees and plants which provided screening of the view, noise, and pollution of the Beltway.

Local experts from the Virginia Department of Forestry and Audubon Society of Northern Virginia will speak about the benefits of native vegetation and local programs to help landowners replant to restore lost beauty and enhance privacy while also providing a home for beneficial wildlife such as songbirds and butterflies.

Ellen Eggerton, ombudsman for Religious and Community Groups, and Susan Langdon from the County Planning and Zoning Office will discuss ways to use pool property in the off season.  There may also be discussion of the new Americans with Disabilities Act pool regulations mandated by March 2012.

George Mason University Community Forum
