ROBINSON CREW TAG DAY THIS WEEKEND

Robinson Crew members will be in area neighborhoods both Saturday and Sunday, January 11th and 12th, soliciting donations in our annual Tag Day event.  The crew boosters would like to thank you in advance for your support.

While crew is a varsity sport at Robinson, it receives no financial assistance from the Fairfax County Public School System, Fairfax County, or the State of Virginia.  Robinson rowers and parents volunteer thousands of hours each year so that our student-athletes can participate in this exciting activity which builds not only strong bodies, but also teamwork and mental discipline.  It costs approximately $1,900 per rower to cover the equipment, coaches’ salaries and other fees needed for a successful season.

This year, our more than 100 rowers have been working hard since mid-November to prepare for the spring 2014 season.  Some of our experienced rowers even braved a few practices on the water as weather allowed.  In the 2013 season, several Robinson Crew boats competed in state and national competition.  Many rowers go on to compete at the collegiate level.

The boosters are deeply appreciative of any support you can provide our student-athletes when they knock on your door the weekend of Jan 11-12th.  Your donation is tax deductible.  For more information, please see robinsoncrew.org , Facebook.com/FriendsofRobinsonCrew, or follow us on Twitter @RamsontheRiver.
