Burke Area Students to Perform in 2013 Virginia All-State Chorus

The students, who are from Lake Braddock Secondary School, Robinson Secondary School, and West Springfield High School, will perform with other students from across the state in the chorus next month.

Ten Fairfax County Public School students from Burke-area schools Lake Braddock Secondary School, Robinson Secondary School, and West Springfield High School have been selected to perform in the Virginia All-State Chorus for 2013.

A total of 66 students were chosen from FCPS schools for the All-State Chorus, which is sponsored by the Virginia Choral Directors Association. An additional 42 FCPS students were also named as alternates to the chorus. Of those 42 alternates, four are from Burke-area schools.

The Burke students selected for the chorus are:

  • Carrie Wogaman from West Springfield High School.
  • Georgia Cotter, Chrissy Hayden, Justus Johnson, Craig Moman, Aaron Reynolds, Jordan Rothwell, and Bronte Thurgood from Lake Braddock Secondary School.
  • Austin Chang and Kayla Garcia-Neal from Robinson Secondary School.

The alternates selected for the chorus are:

  • Brian Bui, Renee Colligan, Daniel Katleman, and Grayson Kilgo from Robinson Secondary School.
  • Cindy Sparlin from West Springfield High School.

According to a news release, the students will perform on Saturday, April 27 at Hanover High School in Mechanicsburg, Va.
