Construction Starts at Terra Centre Elementary School

The school is currently undergoing planned renovations.

Construction crews have started working on planned renovations over at Terra Centre Elementary School in Burke.

The school, which is currently ranked fifth in the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) renovation queue, is included in the FCPS Capital Improvement Plan for construction planned for FY 2014-2018.

The Terra Centre project includes “additions totaling 20,500 square feet and renovations of the existing 68,500 square foot occupied school,” according to the Henley Construction company’s website, the company hired to complete the renovations.

The Henley website also estimates the renovations will be complete by the summer of 2015.

Burke Patch will have a follow up story on the renovations next month.
