It came down to two acts standing on stage and one slot remaining in the finals. West Springfield Dance Team and Daniel Joseph Baker listened as the judges decided their fate.
"I believe this is the year of the dancer," said Howie Mandel. "So I'm going with West Springfield Dance Team."
Piers Morgan followed. "This is the toughest decision we've ever had," he said just before announcing his choice for WSDT.
That meant two out of three, and Sharon Osbourne did not need to vote. The dancers stood in stunned disbelief until host Nick Cannon told them, "You're in!"
WSDT will compete with nine other groups in the America's Got Talent finals. The winner receives $1 million and a headliner show in Las Vegas.
