Robinson Secondary School Gets New Principal

Fairfax County Public Schools has spent the last few months searching for a candidate to replace retired principal Dan Meier.

After about five months of searching, Robinson Secondary School has a new principal.

Former Rocky Run Middle School principal Matt Eline is the newest member of the Robinson family, according to Fairfax County Public Schools spokesman John Torre. He replaces Dan Meier, who retired as principal of Robinson in April.

Eline has served as principal of Rocky Run for the last three years. The Chantilly middle school was recently awarded the 2013 Governor’s Award for Educational Excellence for the third consecutive year.

Eline has an extensive background in education both as a teacher and in an administrative capacity. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Arts in Education from George Mason University. He’s worked as a science teacher, teaching middle and high school courses and has served as a Student Council Association adviser and coach for a boy’s basketball team.

Prior to working in Fairfax County, he worked for Prince William County Public Schools, serving as the assistant principal at Brentsville District High School and the principal of the PWCPS Virtual High School. He then served as a sub-school principal at Fairfax High School from 2006-2010, according to Torre.
