Spartan Spree Kicks Off School Year at West Springfield

The annual event will be on August 28 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Spartan Spree
's traditional kick-off to the new school year will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the school on Aug. 28.

During this time, students may obtain their schedule and locker, and purchase PE uniforms and athletic passes. Parent Teacher Student Association memberships will also be available for parents. 

New this year, families are encouraged print and complete all paperwork prior to Spartan Spree. Those who come to Spartan Spree with completed forms will be fast tracked to obtain their schedule.  All forms are available on the school's website, according to WSHS Keep In Touch.

New Bell Schedule
West Springfield High School’s start time will be changing from 7:30 a.m. to 7:20 a.m. Additional changes have been made, including a later start time on Wednesdays and four lunch shifts. The bell schedule is posted on the WSHS website.

Glory Days
The West Springfield Band Boosters sponsor an ongoing fundraiser with . Anytime you visit a Glory Days in our area, save the receipt and contact Cathy Morrison, president of the Band Boosters at president@wshsband.org She will make arrangements to pick it up.

Macy's Shop for a Cause
The WSHS Band Boosters will be selling all day shopping passes for $5 each to be used on Aug. 25 at any Macy's. The Macy's Shop for a Cause shopping pass is good for 25 percent off of most items in the store; 10 percent off online orders.   Contact Cathy Morrison at president@wshsband.org for more details.

Spartanfest
The WSHS Community Fall Festival and Craft Fair is scheduled for Sept. 29. As part of the festival, the PTSA sponsors a Silent Auction, the proceeds from which support a critically needed mini-grant program for the WSHS teachers. "If you or someone you know may have an item or service to donate to the Silent Auction, please let us know," said Spartanfest organizer Laurie Chadwell. "Likewise, if you are interested in volunteering to help coordinate our Craft Fair or Silent Auction, contact me at wshsspartanfest@msn.com ."
