Spring Mulch Sales Underway at Burke Area High Schools

Proceeds from the fundraisers go to support the senior grad night celebrations in June or toward athletic equipment and uniforms.

The Lake Braddock Secondary School Parent Teacher and Student Association (LBSS PTSA), Robinson Secondary School, and West Springfield High School Touchdown Club Boosters are still accepting orders for their annual Spring Mulch sales.

To help you with your mulch-buying decision, here's an overview of the sales at each Burke-area school.

Lake Braddock Secondary School

The Lake Braddock Secondary School Parent Teacher and Student Association (LBSS PTSA) is selling double shredded hardwood mulch at $4.50 per three cu. ft bag.

Proceeds from the mulch sale go toward the All Night Graduation Party on Wednesday, June 19 for graduating seniors. The mulch sale provides "nearly one-third of the financial support," according to the LBSS PTSA mulch order form.

All orders have to be in by Sunday, March 24. Orders can be mailed in by printing out an order form and mailing payment to: LBSS PTSA, 9300 Willow Pond Ln., Burke, Va 22015. Orders can also be placed online.

Orders of 15 bags or more will be delivered on Saturday, April 6 or Sunday, April 7, 2013. Orders less than 15 bags must be picked up in the parking lot of Lake Braddock on Saturday, April 6.

Robinson Secondary School

Anyone in need of mulch can order a single three cu. ft bag of double shredded hardwood mulch at $4.75 per bag, black shredded hardwood mulch for $4.75 per two cu. ft bag, or pine bark mini nuggets mulch for $5.25 per three cu. ft bag.

Proceeds from the mulch sale go to support the Robinson Secondary School All Night Graduation Celebration for graduating seniors on Thursday, June 13 at Dave and Buster's in Kensington, Md.

Customers can pick up their orders for free at Robinson on Saturday, March 16. Orders of 10 bags or more receive free delivery.

All paid orders have to be in by midnight, Sunday, March 10. Orders can also be submitted online through the mulch sale website or mailed to ANGP 2013 Mulch Sales, P.O. Box 424, Fairfax Station, Va 22039. If mailing in your order, the mulch order form must be sent in with payment.

West Springfield High School

The West Springfield High School Touchdown Club Boosters are also hosting their annual mulch sale.

Proceeds from the mulch sale go toward the "purchase of equipment and uniforms... summer camp... and [to] assist students who otherwise would not be able to participate in the football program," according to the Touchdown Club Boosters website.

Bags of double-shredded hardwood mulch from the Boosters is $4.50 per three cu. ft bag.

Orders of 20 bags or more will be delivered for free. Deliveries will only be made to the following zip codes on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6: 22151, 22152, 22153, 22015, 22009. Orders can also be picked up at West Springfield on April 5 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. or April 6 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Orders can be placed online or mailed in with a printed mulch sale order form.
