Virginia Business Education Association Recognizes Robinson Secondary Teacher

VBEA named Cara Lambert the 2013 Al Roane Middle School Business Teacher of the Year.

The Virginia Business Education Association (VBEA) recently honored Cara Lambert, a middle school business and information technology teacher at Robinson Secondary School.

VBEA named Lambert the 2013 Al Roane Middle School Business Teacher of the Year, according to a news release from FCPS.

Lambert, who teaches computer solutions and digital input technologies at Robinson, was recognized for her "unique contributions" at the secondary school. Those contributions include creating a establishing a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter for middle school students at Robinson, as well as programming club; and developing an open lab schedule to help middle school students receive help with technology.

Lambert is also a mentor She serves as a mentor to new business and information technology teachers in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).

VBEA also recognized a teacher at West Potomac High School, Rebecca Poljac, after she made significant contributions toward innovative, new programs and for showing a professional commitment early in her career. Poljac teaches programming, advanced programming, webpage development and business cooperative internship at West Potomac.
