West Springfield Senior Hosts 'Cars for Cancer'

Family-friendly fundraiser for the American Cancer Society takes place Saturday at school; rain date is Sunday.

A student's Senior Capstone Project called "Cars for Cancer," a car show and festival, is this weekend.

Ben Wenger has organized the car show, complete with sponsorships, food, music, and awards, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society, through his "Cars4Cancer" relay team. 

The family-friendly event is set for Saturday (rain date Saturday, April 21) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the school, at 6100 Rolling Road in Springfield. Visit the event's Facebook page for any updates this weekend.

Cars on display will include imports to "muscle cars" to exotics, according to a flier for the event. Anyone who attends the event is asked to "give what they can" for admission.
