WSDT's Run Ends on 'America's Got Talent'

West Springfield Dance Team made it to the Top 10, but did not progress to the finals.

After months of preparation and weeks of tough competition, West Springfield Dance Team stood on the stage of America's Got Talent last night, one of four acts still in the running for two spots in the finals.

But it was not to be.  The Silhouettes, a dance troupe from Colorado, earned the coveted spot and will compete next week in the finals for a chance to win $1 million and an act in Las Vegas.

The other three acts in the top four are singer Landau Eugene Murphy, the dance group Team iLuminate, and the band Poplyfe.

Members of WSDT looked somber and nervous on stage, awaiting the voting results.  When they lost, they responded with hallmark graciousness.

They have reason to be proud.  Not many high school dance teams have the opportunity to perform for millions of Americans on national television -- not just once -- but repeatedly.
