Nebrich Leads Lake Braddock in Rout of Woodson

Quaterback's seven combined touchdowns helps Bruins coast to 52-7 win

The University of Connecticut might have been onto something when they signed Lake Braddock quarterback Michael Nebrich to a scholarship.

Nebrich racked up over 350 yards and seven touchdowns (five passing and two rushing), as his Bruins destroyed Woodson, 52-7 on Friday night.

Wide receivers Tanner Quigley and Matt Zanellato starred for Lake Braddock, as Nebrich looked their way early and often. The pair caught all five of the star quarterback's scoring strikes, with the 6'4 Zanellato torching through the secondary on deep balls and the speedy Quigley using his possession receiving skills to methodically knife through Woodson's defense.

The game was all but over in the first half, as Woodson had the ball in Lake Braddock's territory just once in the first 24 minutes and the Bruins took a 35-0 lead into the locker room.

Lake Braddock looked a bit lethargic coming out for the second half, drawing a number of penalties and giving up big plays to Woodson wide receiver Paul Fridley and running back Jon Stokes. The Bruins quickly got their act in gear, and put any thoughts of a miraculous comeback to bed.

Nebrich continued to pour it on, throwing for two more touchdowns in the second half. Woodson finally got on the board late to avoid the shutout.

Lake Braddock visits Westfield, who squeaked out a 28-24 win over West Potomac this week, next Thursday at 7:30 pm.
