Summer Reading Program At Local Libraries Underway

Fairfax County Public Libraries are inviting local kids to "Dig Into Reading" at their local branches.

From now through Aug. 31, elementary through high school kids can pick up their free packet and bookmark at any location. Keep track of the books you read, and turn it back into any branch by the deadline to receive your prize - a coupon book full of free and discounted items at local businesses such as Cold Stone Creamery, AMF Bowling, Chick-fil-A and more.

Kids up through sixth grade read (or have read to them) 15 books to receive their prize. Grades seven through 12 read must eight books.

For more information, listen to Kings Park Library volunteer Subeen Le talk about "Dig Into Reading" above. Subeen is a rising sophomore at Robinson who lives in Burke.
