Braddock Supervisor John Cook to Host Volunteer Fair Thursday

Want to find out how to get involved in your community? Local nonprofits from Burke, Springfield and beyond will be at the fair discussing volunteer opportunities.

Not lucky enough to be attending the Selena Gomez concert on Thursday? Then stop by Braddock District Supervisor John Cook's volunteer fair to learn about opportunities for giving back to your community.

Local nonprofits will join Supervisor Cook at the Little Run Elementary School cafeteria from 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Participating organizations will set up display tables with information on the organization, and members will be there to answer questions.

Volunteering helps make Fairfax County such a special and vibrant place to live. In addition, volunteering gives the volunteer a sense of personal value and self-worth. Volunteering opportunities exist in helping the homeless, environmental cleanup, assisting the elderly, beautifying neighborhoods, and in many other areas.
