Burke Resident Honored for Volunteerism with Green Spring Gardens

The local garden recognized more than 50 volunteers for their service at a special luncheon last month.

A Burke resident was recently recognized for more than a decade of volunteer service at Green Spring Gardens, which is located at 4603 Green Spring Rd., in Alexandria off of Braddock Road.

Camille Reilly of Burke was one of more than 55 Green Spring volunteers who were recognize by the local garden at a luncheon held in their honor on Nov. 20, according to a news release from the Fairfax County Park Authority.

Reilly has served as a volunteer with Green Spring for more than 15 years.

“The volunteers serve in every aspect of the gardens. They make all the events and activities possible. We could not perform our mission as a Fairfax County garden without their contribution," said Green Spring Volunteer Coordinator Ralph Wentz in a statement.

  • John Dudzinsky of Herndon and Dorothy Norpel of Alexandria, who were recognized for almost 20 years of volunteer service at Green Spring Gardens.
  • Camilla Clocker of Alexandria, Coletta Hein and Joyce Kinnecom of Springfield, and Margaret Shulter of Annandale, who were recognized for 15 years of volunteer service at Green Spring Gardens.
  • Julie Cosentino of Annandale, and Jeanne Zabel of Falls Church, who were recognized for 10 years of volunteer service at Green Spring Gardens.
