Free Concert in Burke, Haunted Cabaret, Book Festival, Corn Maize and Fall Festival

Free Concert: The Brethren Men's Chorus will host a free concert at Burke United Methodist Church, located at 6200 Burke Centre Pkwy, on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Northern Virginia-based group of 30 singers will sing a variety of tunes.

Book Festival: The Northern Virginia Jewish Book Festival kicks off on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Hosted by the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia, which is located at 8900 Little River Turnpike in Fairfax, the festival lasts through Wednesday, Nov. 13. Saturday's program will feature two authors, David Ebenbach, author of The Artist's Torah and Slash Coleman, author of The Bohemian Love Diaries.

Bike Summit: Fairfax Advocates for Better Bicycling will host a Fairfax Bike Summit Saturday to discuss the role of bicycling in the redevelopment happening at Tysons Corner. The summit  is from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at George Mason University in Fairfax. Details. 

Join the Virginia 42nd Infantry for a day of Civil War history brought to life at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park. Learn about the Machen family’s wartime experiences from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Living History. The Civil War returns to Chantilly this weekend with Living History Day: Civil War at Walney. The Virginia 42nd Infantry will bring the period to life with stories of the Machen family’s wartime experiences. Free. 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Ellanor C. Night After Night. There’s a little more spook left in 2013, which means an extra helping of cabaret at the Workhouse Arts Center. A Haunted Cabaret: The Music of Nevermore and More continues with performances Thursday and Friday. That will be followed with shows Saturday and Sunday of Broadway Biography — Based on a True Story, with Broadway songs based on actual events. Prices and times vary. Thru Sunday. Still A-Maize-ing. Halloween is over, but we’ve still got time for fall fun at the Temple Hall Corn Maize and Fall Festival. A 24-acre corn maze, two large moonbounce stands, an all-ages bull riding machine, camel rides, pumpkin launcher and much more. $12 adults, $10 children/seniors. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Burning Lights. Contemporary Christian worship singer Chris Tomlin performs Friday with guest Louie Giglio. Tomlin is touring in support of his latest album, “Burning Lights.” From $25. 7 p.m., Friday. Patriot Center, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax.
