Saturday, June 14

Hands-on Nature  
Drop-off your child (ages 5 to 11) for an hour of natural adventure at E.C. Lawrence Park starting at 2 p.m. Explore the worlds of birds, animals and plants. Enjoy games and crafts. Activities vary each month. The cost is $5 per child. Register online. For information, call 703-631-0013.

Teas Of Korea Tasting Party  
Korean teas reflect the country’s rich forest landscapes filled with fruits, seeds, blossoms, roots, and leaves. All of these, as well as grains, barley, and rice appear in a remarkable variety of plant infusions that are part of an ancient tea culture. Sample and assess some of these delicious tisanes served with traditional Korean foods at Historic Green Spring from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $25 per person. Register online. Garden Sprouts: June Bug

The Moon and the Stars Campfire 
Meet at E.C. Lawrence Park’s Cabell’s Mill and talk moon and stars around a warm campfire from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Then head out into the meadow with a naturalist to learn how to identify the early spring constellations. Make s’mores around the campfire. The cost is $6. Register online. For information, call 703-631-0013.

Dinosaurs Galore  
Children ages three to seven follow a naturalist to dig into dinosaurs and explore this prehistoric world at Cub Run RECenter from 2 to 3 p.m. Children make a fossil to take home and dig for buried ‘dinosaur’ bones. The cost is $5. Register online. For information, call 703-817-9407.

Welcome Back Mother Goose  
Children ages two to five join naturalists in Hidden Oaks Nature Center’s Nature Playce from 1 to 2 p.m. to learn and act out traditional nursery rhymes with nature themes. Father’s Day Golf Tournament 
Juniors (ages 7 to 17) compete in a two-person team scramble format at Oak Marr Golf Course starting at 9 a.m.  Juniors will be divided into different age groups.  Trophies will be awarded for each age group and for closest to the pin. There is no rain date.  The cost is $40 per team. Fathers’ Day Celebration 
Treat Dad to a free wood-carving lesson with the Northern Virginia Carvers from noon to 4 p.m. at Colvin Run Mill Historic Site. There is a nominal charge for wood blanks. Dads accompanied by their children receive a free tour of the mill. Hand-crank ice cream and sample your efforts for $1.50 a cup. For information, call 703-759-2771.

Antique Car Show 
Celebrate Father’s Day at Sully’s Annual Antique Car Show co-sponsored by the The Model A Ford Club of America. See more than 400 antique and classic cars from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Buy the car of your dreams at the Car Corral or search for the perfect accessory in the Flea Market with more than 100 vendors. Treat Dad to a delicious lunch and enjoy music reminiscent of the heyday of these classic automobiles by Jumpin’ Jupiter and the New Old Time String Band. A tour of the first floor of the 1794 house is included in the admission fee of $10 per adult, $8 per senior, and $7 per child. For information, call 703-437-1794.

Grain Grinding Demonstrations

Pond Life  
Meet a naturalist by Walney pond at E.C. Lawrence Park. Bring boots that can get wet and get ready to find tadpoles, dragonfly nymphs, and water scorpions. Snake and Turtle Feeding
