Drag box to select area
This department functions as one of the four tactical rescue units out of the 38 stations in Fairfax County, responsible for tackling hard rescues such as accidents in tunnels, at construction sites, on lakes, and even during brushfires. The 10 to 11 firefighters on shift daily are equipped with two engines, two medical units, a tactical rescue support unit, a brush truck and even a swift water boat. The department runs out of a spacious facility built in 2001 that provides living areas for up to 28 firefighters, along with spaces for studying, training, cooking and relaxing. The new station also has a meeting hall available for community use, which is used for weekly bingo games run by the volunteer firefighters, among other activities.
