Named after a Vietnam War hero, Robinson is the largest secondary school in Virginia. According to statistics from the 2008 - 2009 school year, Robinson Secondary School had 2,339 students (86.53 percent of the student body) taking general education courses, while 84 students (three percent) enrolled in English as a second language courses and 364 students (13.47 percent) enrolled in special education services. The school is also highly diverse, the student body being 18 percent Asian or Pacific Islander, five percent black, 11 percent Hispanic and 60 percent white. Eleven percent of the student body receives free or reduced-price meals. This past year, the school's student-to-computer ratio was 2.3 to 1.
