American Farmland Trust is hosting the fourth annual America's Favorite Farmers Markets national contest.
We all know Fairfax residents love their farmers markets. American Farmland Trust (AFT) is sponsoring its fourth annual America's Favorite Farmers Markets contest. The purpose "is to raise national awareness about local farmers markets, the role they play in supporting local farms and the importance of protecting American farmland," according to AFT's website. The summer-long competition began in June and ends at midnight on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. The 2012 contest has been expanded to include all 7,175 markets listed in the Department of Agriculture’s National Farmers Market Directory.
