UPDATE: Police Identify Driver Killed in I-95 South Crash Near Backlick Road Exit

Three-car crash closed down southbound lanes of I-95 Saturday from midnight until 4:40 a.m.

UPDATE 4:20 p.m.: Virginia State Police have identified the driver who was killed in the car crash on I-95 south as Ryan Cox, 23, of Alexandria. Cox was driving a Mazda and Virginia State Police responded to the scene Saturday at about 12 a.m. No further information was given about the crash. --- A driver was killed Friday night in a three-car crash near the Backlick Road exit that shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 for nearly five hours, according to Virginia State Police. At 12 a.m. Saturday, Virginia State Police Trooper A.D. Jones was called to the scene of a three-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at mile marker 168 (near the start of the exit ramp to Backlick Road) in Fairfax County. UPDATE: Driver Identified in Fatal Crash Tuesday on Southbound I-95

Crash occurred near the exit to the Fairfax County Parkway.

UPDATE: Wednesday, 5:35 p.m.: Virginia State Police Wednesday afternoon identified the driver of the mini-van who died Tuesday in an early morning crash on southbound Interstate 95 near the Fairfax County Parkway exit. The deceased is Ellen S. Linder, 65, of Kensington, Md. The Maryland woman was killed Tuesday  morning in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Fairfax County.  A flatbed truck was stopped for traffic, preparing to take the exit ramp onto Route 286 south, when it was rear-ended by Linder's 2007 Kia Sedona. Linder died at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash. I think he may have been referring to the accident that DID occur inside the express lanes, with a drunk driver going southbound in the north bound lanes, No need to be rude...even if he did spell it wrong, you don't have to try and embarrass him, it makes you look like a bully!! BTW, it was an accident, not an incident...NOW, see how childish it is?   more ›
