Hollin Hills Home and Garden Tour Set for Saturday
A pre-tour lecture by architect Tom Kerns set for 11:30 a.m. at Hollin Meadows Elementary. The event will be held rain or shine.
If you love architecture, "Mad Men," and all-things modern, you'll want to head to the Hollin Hills House and Garden Tour Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. to see stellar examples of design at the biennial event. Hollin Hills homes get noticed. The homes on the tour "are a good representation of the variety of styles that Charles Goodman designed mid-century, the first being built in 1949 and the last Goodman home being built in 1972," said Pat McCallum, who is handling publicity for the tour. One of them (not on the tour, unfortunately) recently won The Washington Post's “Mad Men” look décor contest. On Saturday, tour-goers will see examples of original designs with no architectural change and also homes that have additions, McCallum noted. …
