Parents and Kids Enjoy Dual Gala Fundraiser in Springfield
Seventy adults and thirty children had fun while raising money for non-profit Let's Help Kids
South Riding-based non-profit Let's Help Kids rocked the Springfield Golf and Country Club Saturday night with a special fund-raiser gala for both adults and children. Among the night's more "grown-up" offerings were two separate DJs, a buffet dinner and a silent auction with 26 donated gifts. Kids and families had fun with balloons, a photo booth and a video game bus parked outside the front door, which became the highlight of the evening. Executive Director, Jen Sterling, welcomed guests, thanked the sponsors for their contributions and showed a short video featuring her daughter, Rachel, now age seven, founder of the "company." It's great to see people working together to help others. It's encouraging. My students had fun decorating shoe boxes filled with school supplies to give to a local shelter. they got their ideas from http://www.homeseasons.com/ to decorate and make cards. We had fun!   more ›
