Athlete of the Week: Running Back Jared Velasquez
Featured for his impressive showing against TC Williams
Throughout the year, Burke Patch will highlight a standout athlete who had an exceptional week on the athletic field. This week Jared Velasquez, running back for the Robinson Rams, captures the first title. This 2009 first team all-region honoree plays both offense and defense for the Rams. This past Friday, during the Rams 35-2 win against TC Williams High School, Velasquez had two touchdowns while rushing for 87 yards on 18 carries and caught one pass for 26 yards.
