After three win-less seasons, the Lake Braddock Lakers win big.
The Lake Braddock Lakers swim team broke its three year loosing streak this summer. Under new head coach Josh Lawson, the young athletes won the Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) Division 16 Relay Meet and tied for Division Champions. "The Lakers have not won a divisional championship since 2003, and the last time they won Divisional Relays was in 2006," said Susan Glosby, a spokesperson for the team. "For the last three seasons they have never won a swim meet, but they continued to work hard and support each other as a team," said Glosby. Boys, girls teams will advance to the Northern Region meet
Both the boys and girls teams in the Robinson swim and dive program placed fourth in the Concorde District meet Saturday, earning the team a spot at the Northern Region meet next week. The Rams did not place in first in any events, but did place second in six: the boys 200-yard medley relay; Kathleen Dodson in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle; Catherine Munch in the 200-yard individual medley; Matt Jones in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.
