Spectators knew they were in the right place before even seeing a single bloom, as the fragrance of more than 190 lily stems greeted visitors to the Garden Club of Virginia 70th Annual Lily Show at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Burke last week. The show was sponsored by The Garden Club of Fairfax, assisted by The North American Lily Society. Awards were presented in many horticulture and artistic classes, for both interclub competition and amateurs. There are 48 garden clubs which are members of the Garden Club of Virginia, and all were represented in the 70th Annual Lily Show. The photo gallery features just a few of the award winners.
