The Washington Post Leads in Circulation Decreases

According to figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the Post's daily circulation fell 7.84 percent from March 2011 to March 2012, representing the single biggest drop among the 25 biggest newspapers in the U.S.

"We want you to make a diorama of a famous occurrence or scene," said the Post. "It can be a historic, current or future event, or it can be a nod to pop culture. The one rule is that all the characters in the diorama must be played by Peeps."

Drink Beer? Volunteer!

The Washington Post seeks taste testers for their 2012 bracketed taste-off.

Friday, Feb. 17, is the deadline for The Washington Post's 2012 Beer Madness taster applications. The Food section's annual Beer Madness bracketed taste-off will feature 32 all-American craft brews, according to the paper. To be considered for one of the four reader designated slots, you must be able to attend the evening tasting sessions on Feb. 27 and March 5. Giving Locally at Year's End

You can benefit from the tax deduction as local nonprofits benefit from your gift.

Karen Hube, a columnist for The Fiscal Times, presented five steps to maximize end-of-the-year charitable giving.  In the Washington Post she wrote: "Above all, advisers say, keep good documentation of your giving," she said. Rankings, ratings and financial analyses of charities are available at CharityNavigator and CharityWatch.
