UPDATE Thursday 5:30 p.m.: Two of the teens, in plea bargain deals, pleaded no contest today to "unlawful filming," in juvenile court Thursday, according to a news report by WJLA. A third teen, the TV station reported, who was fighting all charges, went through with a trial and was convicted of two counts of unlawful filming and found not guilty on the child porn charges and not guilty on a third charge of unlawful filming. Juvenile Court Judge Thomas Mann cleared the public from the room when the sex tapes were played in court, according to MyFoxDC.com. Three teenage boys from the school were arrested and charged with producing child pornography that involved six female teens who attend West Springfield and other area high schools, according to news reports.
Three teenage boys, students at West Springfield High School, were arrested last month on charges of producing child pornography, according to a report by Fox 5 Friday. The three students "are accused of getting teenage girls drunk and making sex tapes. The tapes were made sometime after the girls had passed out," the Fox 5 report noted. The three students, two ages 16 and one age 15, were charged as juveniles with “possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography,” Officer Shelley Broderick, a Fairfax County Police spokeswoman, told The Washington Post, which reported the story Saturday. A Burke man was sentenced last month to 360 months in prison and 15 years of supervised release for producing child pornography. Jason Laposay, 40, filmed a minor under the age of 12 engaging in sexually explicit activity, according to a news release from the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Laposay pled guilty June 29 to producing child pornography. According to court records filed with the indictment, the Fairfax County Child Abuse hotline received a tip that Laposay was sexually abusing a minor. An exam of the minor revealed Laposay sexually abused the minor victim once a week for more than two years. PFC J. Kevin Clark will not face charges after shooting and killing an armed suspect in May.
The Fairfax County Police Department announced Monday that PFC J. Kevin Clarke will not face charges after discharging his weapon May 21 in a Springfield apartment, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Gray Alan Combs. Officers received reports that Combs, who had seven outstanding warrants involving child pornography and sex with a minor, was hiding out in the apartment. After their arrival, Combs threatened the officers with a sword and failed to comply with their orders. According to a statement released by the police, Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Raymond F. Morrogh said that he "finds no basis for criminal liability" against Clarke. A man wanted on multiple child pornography charges was shot in a Springfield apartment.
Update: Police say the man killed in the shooting was 22-year-old Gray Alan Combs. Combs did not have a fixed address, according to FCPD. --- A Fairfax County Police Officer was involved in the shooting of a wanted man in an apartment on Backlick Road late Saturday night. The picture of the High School accompanies every article as if this took place 'at' the school. Indeed, many people think that it did just from reading these articles.
